Black Friday checklist: refresh your home for less
Furniture, kitchen and storage: what to buy in the season and what to leave for later.

Home and kitchen is the category where the season makes the biggest difference, because furniture stores rarely discount outside it. This checklist is what we use to plan the Black Friday orders at Baytona, Matbakho and Rukno.
Before the season
Measure the rooms and write the numbers down: the space for the sofa, the width of the wardrobe, the height under the window. The planner tools on Baytona and Rukno take exact measurements and tell you what fits. Then make a wishlist in each store, because season codes are often limited to items that were on a wishlist before the season started.
Big furniture: the season is the moment
Sofas, beds and dining sets are the products with the best season prices, and delivery with assembly is usually free above a threshold. Check three things before you order: the delivery window (two to three weeks is normal in the season), whether assembly is included, and whether returns on assembled furniture carry a collection fee.
Kitchen: appliances first, tools later
Small appliances — air fryers, coffee machines, blenders — get the deepest cuts in the season, and Matbakho usually adds free shipping on top. Cookware and knives are discounted all year, so leave them for a normal month and use a regular code instead.
Storage and organising
Storage is cheap to ship and rarely sells out, so there is no need to rush. Use the season for the bigger systems — wardrobe kits, shelving — and buy boxes and dividers with a free-shipping code later. Rukno sells the kits in standard widths, so measure the inside of the wardrobe before you order.
Bedding and textiles
Bedding bundles are where the season price beats the code: a duvet cover with sheets and pillowcases in a bundle usually costs less than the pieces with a code. Mattresses come with a trial period, so buy them in the season and keep the trial dates in your calendar.
The checklist
- Measure every space and keep the numbers on your phone.
- Wishlist the items in each store before the season starts.
- Order big furniture on the first day of the season, while stock is full.
- Add small appliances to the same order to reach the free-shipping threshold.
- Leave cookware, boxes and dividers for a regular month.
- Keep the packaging for the return window and note the delivery dates.
After the season
Prices do not jump back the next morning. Most home stores keep the season prices for a few days, and the codes marked “ends soon” on the store pages here tell you how long. If an item sold out, the restock usually arrives within two weeks, and the price often stays low for it.
